Design work on this facility is now complete!
The GVT West Transfer Facility is a local, state and federally funded project to allow the expansion of the Grand Valley Transit system as development expands to the west. The project site, located at 24 ½ and F 1/8 Roads, is 3.68 acres.
The facility will provide bus transfer stops for up to six bus routes (4 current and 2 future), a park-and-ride lot, and a station. The 2,850 sf station will welcome patrons between routes, providing restrooms, ticket sales, route information, vending, and indoor waiting in inclement weather. All of the bus transfer positions are visible from within the lobby so passengers can see buses when they arrive.
The site will be appropriately landscaped to provide the feel of a pocket park for the surrounding neighborhood.
